When I was asked to make a lap quilt, with the only specification being it had to be "age appropriate" , it was an ideal opportunity to try out a pattern I've been wanting to make for ages. I think it's turned out really well. I hope the lady likes it. I think she will. I love this pattern and it definitely won't be the last time I make it. I wonder what it would look like in baby material.....

There's nothing that quite beats getting a load of new material for my next project. Nothing , that is, apart from a load of new material in a box! I know, it sounds daft, but I'm a sucker for a nicely packed box of co-ordinating colours, all neatly lined up. It seems almost a shame to disturb them, but I will. They're off for a date with the washing machine later today. I got these little beauties yesterday. A friend of mine asked me to make a lap quilt for her. She knows that I make mainly baby quilts, so she made sure I knew that the colours had to be "age appropriate". I think she was worried that I'd put a big fluffy elephant on it or something like that. Anyway, I've chosen these lovely autumn colours and once they're all clean and shiny from their wash, I'll be making a start on my age appropriate lap quilt.
