Well, I summoned up all my courage and unpacked my jelly roll. It's amazing how far one jelly roll can spread! I'd found a pattern that I really wanted to have a go at: nothing very complicated but I thought the finished quilt looked lovely. It went together like a dream and I was enjoying myself so much that I didn't really take too much notice of how big it was getting. The finished size was written very clearly on the pattern instructions but you know how it is - instructions? Who reads them anyway? Well, note to self - read the instructions first! It's turned out huuuge. I couldn't find anywhere to lay it out to get a decent photo, so I've had to rely on my trusty "holder upper" in the back garden with a set of step ladders getting involved. Paul always held my quilts up to be photographed before I got a design wall. Happy days when all my quilts had heads. Anyway, here's a picture of the quilt top and I had to show you one of my holder upper, for old time's sake. It was a windy day too, which didn't help. But the sun was shining, so hey, who's counting. I'm going to do some free motion quilting on it now, so I'll let you know how that goes.
