I thought I'd show you what's been keeping me busy just lately. My friend Gill and I started working on this quilt a while ago. Alright, ages ago. It's a pattern called Little Amsterdam, by the North Sea Quilters. We saw the finished quilt hanging in a quilt shop in Amsterdam and both loved it. We decided to make our own versions. You can see it uses lots of different blue and white material, so we had to have lots of days out, visiting lots of different quilt shops to collect all the material we needed. That took us a very long time, with lots of days out. I like collecting material. It's a lovely quilt to make. The instructions in the pattern book are very clear and easy to follow. It went together like a dream. Gill moved house half way though making it, so I can't show you her version: it's still hidden away in a packing box somewhere. The finished quilt top has turned out to be huge. (this is getting to be a habit) I couldn't find anywhere to hang it and my "holder upper" is on a business trip, so it's laid out on the dining room floor. Just picture me - climbing up on a high stool to get a half decent photo. It was worth it though, I think it's turned out really well. Just have to quilt it now....

Well, it's all finished! I'm really pleased with how it's turned out. It's here on our bed, which Paul says is it's new home. That's fine. It's a nice happy looking quilt so it will be no hardship to be looking at it every day. Now... what can I do next?
