Well, that's it! You've watched my quilt from beginning to end. What started off as a pile of different material, has ended up as a soft, cuddly baby quilt. Something to be treasured, just like the new baby who it's going to. I've put my label on the back. I've left a little space at the top, so when I know the new baby's name, I can add it in there. It makes a unique gift just that bit more personal. Now, what's next....

I've done the quilting now, and put the binding on round the edges. So, my quilt is finished. It's a proper quilt! Well, almost. I always like to put a label on the back. I think it makes it a bit more personal. So, I'll do that and then it really will be properly finished.
This is the "painful" stage - crawling about on the floor with masking tape and pins. Must be an age thing. Anyway, I've put the three layers together - the top, the batting and the backing. Now for the quilting...
I've put borders on. It's starting to look like a proper quilt now. The next job is to add the batting and a backing, then it's quilting time....
It's been raining all day today. Perfect quilting weather! I've made a start on my latest baby quilt. I'm pleased with how it's turning out so far. I need to decide on border colours now. Maybe a nice blue.
I'm starting a new quilt today. That's always exciting. I'm making a quilt for a baby boy. I'm using flannel - it's really soft and feels cosy. Just right for a new baby.
Liam is a lively boy who is starting to get into everything around him. He loves his blue quilt with yellow moon and stars. I wasn't sure about the colours at first, but it has turned out really nicely. Liam loves it - which is what it's all about!
