Well, I seem to be going through a period of "finishing off" things. That has to happen from time to time, I suppose. I've been making this elephant as a present for a friend of mine. I wanted it to look happy, bright and jolly. Well, it's definitely bright and it makes me happy when I look at it, so that's a success then! I made it from a pattern by Windham fabrics, called Paisley Splash. I used Kaffe Fasset materials. It was lovely to make, I really enjoyed doing it. I might have to think of someone else who desperately needs an elephant as a present, then I can do another one. For now though, I've got a couple of baby quilt orders to start so I'm off to start planning...

I've finally finished my "life is beautiful" quilt! Well, the top at least. It's not been one of my quickest projects: I think I started it about 5 or 6 years ago. Paul bought me the pattern as a birthday present. It was designed by Helen Stubbings. I thought it would be a nice project to take along to my quilting group every Tuesday. I've really enjoyed making it. The little stitchery panels are so cute. I underestimated how hard it would be to make the circles actually look like circles. In fact, now I look at this picture, I can see a few wobbly bits. So please don't look too closely. I have to decide how to quilt it and finish it off now. I hope that doesn't take another ten years or so..
